Registering for an Account on Indian American Wedding

  1. There are multiple ways to register for your free bride or vendor account on the website:
    • Using “REGISTER FOR FREE” link in the top right green box
    • Using “CREATE YOUR PROFILE” link under Social Network for Brides & Vendors
    • Using the “Register” links under FREE Wedding Planning Tools for Brides, MARKETPLACE & FORUM and FREE Business Tools for Vendors.
  2. Clicking on the Register links will redirect you to “Create new account” page.
  3. Start filling out all the fields. Note: All fields are mandatory on this page.
  4. The password warning is for your own account security, BUT it is not mandatory to change your password based on the warning.
  5. Register for the following Roles:

    Vendors: If you are a wedding vendor or a business owner who wishes to create a profile to interact with other brides and vendors, and advertise your business. Following tools are available to vendors:

    • User Profile
    • Photogallery: Share your business photos with your buddies.
    • Access to Social Network, where you can add other users as buddies
    • Guestbook, where you can access and write on your buddies’ guestbook
    • Clients: Make a potential database of your leads and past clients.
    • Appointment Book: Record all your appointments through this tool.
    • Vendor Planning Calendar: View all your appointments on the calendar
    • Marketplace Posts: Make a post to Marketplace & Forum advertising your services or respond to a bride’s question
    • Marketplace & Forum: See what kind of conversations are going on in wedding planning arena.
    • Listing in Vendor Directory: Have a free listing in the vendor list once you create your account.

    Brides: If you are a bride planning your own wedding and need wedding planning tools, tips and ideas, network with other brides and vendors, then register on the website as a bride. Following tools are available to brides:

    • User Profile
    • Photogallery: Share your photos with your buddies by adding them to your profile.
    • Access to Social Network, where you can add other users as buddies.
    • Guestbook, where you can access and write on your buddies’ guestbook.
    • Invitations: Create Events and invite people to your events via an online invitation.
    • Appointment Book: Manage your vendor appointments on the website.
    • Binder: Manage your Wedding Planning Research by adding pictures, website links, documents and notes to your binder.
    • Budget: Manage your wedding budget by adding various vendor costs.
    • Checklist: This is a tool which helps you plan your to-dos for the wedding.
    • Guestlist: Manage your guests by entering their name, address, gifts received, if they are from out of town or not, events invited for etc.
    • Marketplace Posts: Create a post on the marketplace & forum choosing your location and the wedding planning category. Ask a question on different topics and interact with other brides and vendors.
    • Marketplace & Forum: View the conversations going on about wedding planning on the forum.
    • Bridal Planning Calendar: View Your Appointments, Events and Checklist items
    • Vendor List: Search Vendors by zip code and view them as a list.
  6. Click on “Create new account” to finish your registration. Your account has now been created on the website.

Logging in to your Account

  1. If you already have an account on the website, click on the “Log in” link on the top right corner in the green box.
  2. Alternately, Click on “My Profile” in the main navigation.
  3. You will see the “Log in” screen, where you will enter your username and password and click on Log in.
  4. You are now logged in and can start using the tools and editing your profile on the website.

Request new Password

  1. If you do not remember your password, then go to “Request new password” tab.
  2. Submit your username or email address.
  3. Click on E-mail new password.
  4. Check your email for your new password to log in to your account.

Tutorials for Bride's Account

Editing Bride's Profile

  1. In order to have better interactions with other brides and vendors on the website, complete your profile.
  2. Click on “Profile” link under the “Edit” tab on your User Profile.
  3. Note: Not all the fields are required to be filled out. Only the fields with asterisk next to it are mandatory.
  4. Click on “Save” to save your changes on the website.
  5. Your buddies can see the following details on your profile:
    • Username
    • Name
    • Address
    • Engagement Date
    • Wedding Date
    • About Me
    • Your Picture
    • Photogallery
    • Contact Form
    • Buddies
    • Marketplace Posts
    • Guestbook
    • Note: Details of your wedding planning tools are not visible to anyone on the site.
  6. Users that are not your buddies can see the following details on your profile:
    • Username
    • Name
    • Address
    • Picture
    • Contact Form
    • Marketplace Posts
    • Link to add you as a buddy

Editing Bride's Account

  1. Click on the “Account” link under the “Edit” tab to change the following details:
    • Password
    • Intro to your guestbook
    • Picture
    • Timezone settings
  2. Hit “Save” once you are done.

View your Profile and Photo Gallery

  1. Once you are done entering your profile information, you can view it by clicking on the “View” tab.
  2. You can also see your Photo Gallery on your Profile.
  3. To start adding photos on your Photo Gallery, click on the “Edit” link under Photo Gallery.
  4. You will see a page with picture upload box. Start uploading pictures.
  5. Click on “Add another item” to add additional pictures.
  6. Hit “Save” to save your photo gallery
  7. Go back to your Profile, by clicking “My Profile” on the main navigation. Above is an example of the view of a photo gallery on the profile page.

Creating Events and Invitations

  1. Click on the “Invitations” tab. This has three parts to it:
    • Your Event Invitations: Events you have been invited to by other users.
    • List of Events: That have been created by you.
    • Create an Event: This is a form for you to create a new Event.
  2. You can enter the details of an event in the event form. Note: Only the Event name is the mandatory field in the form.
  3. Once you are done entering the event details, hit “Save”.
  4. You will see the event under the heading “HERE IS A LIST OF EVENTS CREATED BY YOU”.
  5. Click on the event, for which you would like to create an invitation to invite guests online using their email addresses.
  6. You will see the event details as shown above.
  7. Now click on “Edit” tab.
  8. You can edit the details of the event if you choose to do so on this tab.
  9. Now, click on “Invitations” tab.
  10. Click on “Create Invitation” to start creating an Invitation for your event.
  11. Enter a message for your guests that will be in the email sent to them via this form.
  12. Once you are done, hit “Save Invitation”.
  13. You will be taken to the above page once you have saved the invitation.
  14. You can now begin entering email addresses to invite your guests.
  15. Once the email addresses have been added, you can send the invitation by clicking on the “Send Invitation” link under Guest List.
  16. Following is your invitations view, with your guests added to the list:

Creating an Appointment in “Appointment Book”

  1. Click on the “Appointment Book” tab.
  2. Enter the appointment details in the form under the subheading “ENTER APPOINTMENT DETAILS”.
  3. Once you enter the details, you can view them in a table above the form under the same tab.

Creating an item in the Binder

  1. Click on the “Binder” tab on your Profile page.
  2. Enter the details for your binder item, such as the name of the item, the wedding planning category, website link, related image or document, notes, under the form heading “MY BINDER”.
  3. Once you hit save, you can see the binder item in a table above the form. You can also see the image preview in the table.
  4. Once you have a few items in your binder, you can filter them by the planning xcategory using the drop down above the table.

Creating an item under Budget

  1. Go to the “Budget” Tab.
  2. Fill out details under the form heading “ENTER YOUR BUDGET VALUES HERE”.
  3. Select a Budget Item Category and Amount.
  4. View the budget with a total in a table above the form.

Creating a Checklist

  1. Click on the “Checklist” tab.
  2. Fill out details under the form heading “ENTER YOUR CHECKLIST ITEM” to create a checklist.
  3. You can choose from a comprehensive list of checklist items pertaining to South Asian Weddings. You can specify whether they are complete, partially complete or pending and when they are supposed to be completed by.
  4. Once you have a few checklist items, you can filter them by the status.

Creating a Guestlist

  1. Go to the “Guestlist” tab.
  2. Enter the details under the form heading “ENTER YOUR GUEST DETAILS HERE”.
  3. You can enter the following details for each guest:
    • Name
    • Address and Phone Number
    • Email
    • Events Invited For
    • Gift
    • Invitation Sent or Not
    • Out of Town or Not
    • Table Number
    • Thank You notes sent
  4. Once you are done entering details, hit save, and you can see the guest details in a table above the form. You can also see the Google Maps view of the address of the guest.
  5. Once you have a list of few guests, you can also filter them by various criteria using the drop down boxes above the table.

Creating Marketplace Posts

  1. Click on Marketplace Posts tab.
  2. Create a post on Marketplace & Forum by entering details under the form subheading “MAKE A POST ON MARKETPLACE”.
  3. You can enter Post title, planning category, your location, an image related to your post and description.
  4. Once you are done entering details, hit save.
  5. You can now view the post in a table above the form. You can also view the posts you have commented on.
  6. Once you have a few posts, you can also filter them by the planning category.

Bride's Calendar

  1. You can view your Calendar by clicking on the small calendar view on the left.
  2. You can view it by Year, Month, Week or Day.
  3. You can also filter your Calendar events by “Appointments”, “Event” and “Checklist items”.

Viewing other User Profiles and Adding Buddies

This site also gives you access to a social network, where you can add other users as your buddy to get a better access to their profiles, and interact with them. Find the users under the “Members” area, which can be accessed via the main navigation.

Here is how you will view a user’s profile if you are not buddies with them:

Vendor Non-Buddy Profile:

Bride Non-Buddy Profile:


  1. In order to add a user to your profile, click on the link “Become [member name]’s buddy” and send a buddy request to them.
  2. Once the user you requested to be buddies with logs in, they can see your request, and approve you as their buddy.
  3. Similarly, when you receive buddy requests, you can approve or unapprove users as your buddy.
  4. You can view your buddies under the “Buddies” tab on your profile.

Marketplace & Forum

  1. Marketplace & Forum can be accessed via the main navigation.
  2. You can search for a particular post by typing in the Search box.
  3. Alternately, you can filter posts by category.

Vendor List

  1. Click on “Vendor List” link on the main navigation.
  2. You can search vendors by entering the zip code and the category of the vendor.
  3. Once you Apply your filters, you can see the query return your results.
  4. Alternately, you can scroll down on the Vendor List page and view all the vendors in a list form.

Editing Vendor's Profile

  1. In order to have better interactions with other brides and vendors on the website, complete your profile.
  2. Click on “Profile” link under the “Edit” tab on your User Profile.

  1. Click on the “Account” link under the “Edit” tab to change the following details:
    • Password
    • Intro to your guestbook
    • Picture

  2. Hit “Save” once you are done.

View your Profile and Photo Gallery

  1. Once you are done entering your profile information, you can view it by clicking on the “View” tab.
  2. You can also see your Photo Gallery on your Profile.
  3. To start adding photos on your Photo Gallery, click on the “Edit” link under Photo Gallery.
  4. You will see a page with picture upload box. Start uploading pictures.
  5. Click on “Add another item” to add additional pictures.
  6. Hit “Save” to save your photo gallery
  7. Go back to your Profile, by clicking “My Profile” on the main navigation. Above is an example of the view of a photo gallery on the profile page.

Viewing other User Profiles and Adding Buddies

  2. Click on the [user]’s guestbook tab.
  3. Write in the text area to make an entry in the buddy’s guestbook.

Viewing and filling out Buddy’s Contact Form

  1. If you want to privately message a person, fill out their contact form.
  2. You can email your query or message to the person via this contact form.

Vendor's own Guestbook

  1. Above is an example view of vendor’s own guestbook.
  2. Only your buddies can write on your guestbook.
  3. You can delete or edit an entry if you don’t like it.
  4. This is a way for bride or other vendor’s to interact with you or even review your profile.

Creating a client entry in My Clients

  1. Go to the “Clients” tab under “My Profile”.
  2. Enter details of your client, such as Name, Address and notes under the form with heading “ENTER YOUR CLIENT INFORMATION HERE.”
  3. Once the details are entered, you can view them in a table above the form. You can also see a Google Maps link for the client’s address.

Creating an Appointment in “Appointment Book”

  1. Click on the “Appointment Book” tab.
  2. Enter the appointment details in the form under the subheading “ENTER APPOINTMENT DETAILS”.
  3. Once you enter the details, you can view them in a table above the form under the same tab.

Vendor's Calendar
